Parent Strategy
The Vision
Our Parent Vision is to create a strong, inclusive and empowered parent community that works in partnership with our schools to improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND. At the heart of this vision is our commitment to ensuring that families are recognised as equal partners in education, with their knowledge, experiences and aspirations helping to shape the services and support we provide.
Our Parent Vision underpins the Trust's strategic ambition to become a sector leader in SEND education by 2030. By fostering strong family partnerships, developing sustainable support networks and creating meaningful opportunities for parental involvement, we will strengthen outcomes for learners, families and communities while ensuring that parents remain at the centre of our strategic planning and development.
The Strategy
This Parent Strategy sets out the Trust's commitment to building meaningful and lasting partnerships with parents and carers. Developed through engagement with families, school leaders and wider stakeholders, the strategy identifies four strategic themes that will guide our work to strengthen parental engagement and support across the Trust.
The strategy focuses on:
Support
We recognise that families of children and young people with SEND often require access to practical, emotional and specialist support. By developing a coordinated and accessible offer, we will ensure that parents feel informed, connected and able to access the help they need when they need it.
Influence
Parents provide invaluable insight into the experiences and needs of children and young people. We are committed to ensuring that parental voices influence decisions at school, Trust and local level, helping to shape services, policies and future developments.
Engagement
Effective engagement requires meaningful communication, active listening and a commitment to inclusion. We will ensure that all parents have opportunities to participate, contribute and engage in ways that reflect their needs and circumstances.
Togetherness
Building a sense of belonging and community is fundamental to supporting families and creating positive experiences. We will create opportunities for families to connect, celebrate and support one another as part of a wider Trust community.

These themes provide a framework for action, outlining priorities and initiatives that will strengthen the voice of parents, improve access to support and create opportunities for meaningful participation in Trust life. The themes are interconnected and collectively support our vision of building a thriving parent community that contributes positively to outcomes for children and young people.
The Parent Strategy will remain responsive to the changing needs of families and communities. Progress will be reviewed annually, with oversight provided through Trust governance arrangements and regular engagement with parents, school leaders and stakeholders.
